Meet Me At The Manger

Wise Men Still Follow Him Today

Created by Celeste Clydesdale
Arranged by David T. Clydesdale

Through energetic songs and a fun-filled story, Meet Me at the Manger creatively communicates how the gifts of the wise men are relevant today. Celeste Clydesdale's musical takes your children from a choir performance at Herod's Department Store to a Christmas party at the Lighthouse Mission. There the children discover that God's desire is for us to have a heart of gold and to give prayer and praise to God like sweet incense. By serving Him in the mission, the children learn what it means to lay down their wants, choosing instead to live for Jesus. A video is available which includes a complete demo performance, an accompaniment video and instructional choreography. The Teacher Resource Kit includes teaching helps and suggestions for performance, choreography and promotion within and outside of your church.

LOVE Meet Me at the Manger

Review by Jeanne

We have done this children's musical 2 times now at our church (2002 and 2014). The kids loved this play. The story line is fantastic and the music wonderful. We are a smaller church and I liked how we could have some roles played by adults to help out. This year we are doing "Candy Cane Lane" our all time favorite (performed 1997, 2001, 2009 and 2015).

At our last practice one of our young kids asked if we could sing "Heart of Gold" from Meet Me at the Manger just for fun. You know something has been done right when an eight year old boy asks to sing a song from last year's play!

Amazing Program!!

Review by Samantha

This was the very first musical I was apart of. I used to be petrified to go onstage, but this play helped me get past some of that stage fright. Even though it has been over ten years since I was apart of this musical, I know it as well today as I did then. The music in this Christmas program is unlike any other! It's all different styles, and none of them sound alike. My absolute favorite is "In your Presence" where I had a solo. The message this play shows is a simple, yet powerful one about true Joy, and how it doesn't come from Christmas gifts, or holiday bonuses. It comes from giving to others...even those of us who seem to be our enemies. I still will often put in my CD from all those years ago, and listen to the powerful Christmas program that was able to change my thoughts of Christmas...thoughts that I will live with for the rest of my life.
